Somers, NY – March 30, 2025 – Michael Rinaldi is pleased to announce his candidacy for the
Somers Central School District (SCSD) Board of Education in the upcoming election on
Tuesday, May 20. A dedicated community member, parent, and business leader, Rinaldi aims
to bring his expertise and passion for education to the Board, ensuring that all students receive the highest quality learning experience.
“For the past seven years, Somers has been home to my family—including my wife, a dedicated teacher in the district for over 20 years, and our three sons, who are all enrolled in SCSD schools and active in local sports,” said Rinaldi. “As a parent and youth sports volunteer, I have witnessed firsthand the strengths of our schools and the opportunities to further enhance them. I am committed to supporting our students, educators, and community in a meaningful way.”
Rinaldi brings over 20 years of leadership experience in global finance, operations, and
strategic planning. As Managing Director and Global Head of Trade Operations at a financial
firm, he has also served on multiple boards, including those focused on educational programs and technology startups. Drawing from his professional expertise and personal experience as the husband of a lifelong educator and father of three SCSD students, he has identified three key priorities for his campaign:
• Promoting Academic Excellence and Real-World Readiness: Strengthening
academic programs, improving student outcomes across all grade levels, and expanding
opportunities in STEM, advanced coursework, and career-readiness pathways.
• Ensuring Fiscal Responsibility and Strategic Planning: Leveraging professional
expertise in budgeting and operations to allocate resources effectively and transparently,
while maintaining high-quality education without overburdening taxpayers.
• Fostering Community Engagement and Partnership: Building stronger connections
between families, educators, and the district, promoting open communication and
collaborative decision-making that reflects the values of the Somers community.
“I believe Somers has the foundation, talent, and heart to provide an exceptional education for all students,” Rinaldi stated. “I would be honored to contribute my experience, perspective, and dedication to help move our district forward. I hope to earn your support and your vote on May 20.”
